Race for Change 2017

Path to Possibilities Race for Change is a 5 or 10k charity race which raises money for the education of disadvantaged children in Nigeria. Money raised goes towards the sponsorship of bright children, sharing best teaching practice with teachers in state schools and building infrastructure for deprived schools.

The money you raise will help us educate more children. 5k is an achievable distance for all abilities, so unite in the fight against terror by signing up now.

Where? Race for Change takes place in the stunning grounds of Trent Park in North London.

Run as a team or alone – 5 or 10k you will be making a difference.

Race for Change is on Saturday 1st July, starts at 11am prompt in the stunning grounds of Trent Park, north London.     Ikota Project

Ikota is a slum settlement in the Ajah area, after the affluent Lekki in Lagos. This is an area we have worked in for over 6 years. The schools in this area are poorly resourced, equally concerning, we have seen with our own eyes the condition these children live in, and it is not conducive for studying or learning.  Often, the whole family, a family of five or more live in a single bedroom – a space to study is a luxury.

In 2015, we embarked on a simple project; to establish a centre where children can access books, where they can access the internet, and where they can enjoy a quiet place to study. In November 2016 we opened the library and now many children use it on a daily basis. See video here.

In time we will offer lessons in literacy and numeracy, all for free. This year, we are fundraising to open a computer centre within the library. We want to connect the children to the wider world.  We need your help.
